Business Architect

management consulting, some experience, lot of experience, consultant
Belgium

Although delaware has built up a rock-solid reputation as an IT implementation partner, technology is only part of the story of a digital transformation. To write these remaining chapters, our Management Consulting division helps our customers’ senior management to transform beyond technology.

You’ll be part of a new and exciting area within delaware that focuses on this connected transformation. On top of our existing technical expertise, you’ll help us to bring business knowledge and strategic thinking to our clients.

Who are we?

We are a part of the Management Consulting department, together with other teams such as the Finance & Performance Management Team. It’s our ambition to establish new practices within the department, with the ultimate goal of serving the other teams in cross-functional contexts, focusing on implementations and transformations.

Your team will be a mix of people with backgrounds in different functions and industries; people who have a project management profile in a context of management consulting and technology consulting. In that way, the team will be able to draw on its experience and expertise to support the customer in a wide range of digital transformation, such as ERP, MES but also data and AI oriented projects.

Delaware has its offices in Antwerp, Ghent, Kortrijk, Lummen, and Wavre, but we have a ‘where you work best’ policy: we work where we work best, when we work best.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Architect, you will:

  • play a pivotal role in translating business strategy into action at our customers. Typically, you will be a part of larger digital transformation projects or programs and be responsible for providing an umbrella (“end-to-end”) business overview.
  • work closely with senior leaders across business and technology teams to define future-state business architectures, identify transformation opportunities, and guide the execution of the different initiatives to address these.
  • be invited to further shape and finetune our architectural methodologies and hence add value to our management consulting practice as a whole.

What does this mean in practice?

  • You will define and participate in (large) projects,  where you are responsible for the business architecture methodology by providing vision, support and advice.
  • You collaborate with enterprise (business & IT) architects and solution teams to ensure alignment of business needs and technology design.
  • You are the sounding board for the project teams and management.
  • You create models, analyses and roadmaps for execution of transformation journeys. You provide insights and recommendations grounded in architectural thinking.
  • ...

Together we shape companies, providing guidance and solving complexity!

Is there a match?

Let’s have a look at the skills you’ll need to become a Business Architect at delaware:

  • A master’s degree (preferably in a Business or Computer science-related study) and 5-10 years of experience in business analysis and/or enterprise (business) architecture. Experience in consulting roles is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of architectural concepts such as value streams, operating models, processes & capabilities, ... Certification (e.g. TOGAF, BIZBOK, ...) is considered a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise architecture tools (e.g. LeanIX, Signavio, ...)
  • Affinity with technology and proven experience with roles within digitalization projects (e.g. ERP/CRM/MES/... implementations)
  • End-to-end knowledge of business operations, possibly accompanied by deep knowledge in one or more functional domains (e.g. logistics, planning, procurement, ... )
  • Excellent soft skills in areas such as
    • communication & collaboration
    • stakeholder & change management
    • analytical thinking, problem solving & decision making
  • Being fluent in English is a must, Dutch is preferred and French is a plus.
