We sat down with some members of the delaware management consulting team to get the inside scoop on what it is like to be part of delaware’s fastest-growing solution of the year. 
Spoiler alert: as a management consultant, no two days are alike. With customers from different industries and diverse projects, each day brings new challenges and opportunities.

Management consulting covers various if not all business realms. From finance and performance management, over customer and employee experience management to supply chain transformation and beyond. It is dedicated to generating business value across different functions.

We know it is somewhat cliché, but as a management consultant, no two days are alike. With customers from different industries and diverse projects, each day brings new challenges and opportunities. 

“Depending on the phase of the project, I am involved in workshops, deliverables, project management, data analysis, preparing visuals or process maps.” says Julie. “Moreover, some projects are very tool specific while others are more technology agnostic. This diversity ensures that my days take different forms and that my work is dynamic, challenging and rewarding.”

What spark do you need to truly excel in this field? Curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset! Joseph and Francois know this firsthand, and they both agree that active listening and strategic thinking are key skills for any consultant worth their salt. “Management consulting is about asking the right questions to detect the root cause of challenges,” explains Joseph. 

"Industry knowledge is key to designing and offering the right solutions to a customer. That is why we invest in training from the delaware Academy and provide our junior colleagues with the opportunity to learn in the field from experienced mentors.” states Francois. 

“Although the management consulting team leverages proven frameworks for tackling challenges, each project is unique and requires a tailored approach. Pragmatic problem solvers definitely belong on our team.” Steven concludes, “Soft skills like effective coaching and speaking your customer’s language are crucial for effectively conveying solutions.”
