On a day-to-day basis, delaware’s Financial and business Controllers are tasked with overseeing business performance, finance operations, forecasting, budgeting and so on. You see, based on the team’s financial insights and reporting, certain strategic decisions will be made. Never underestimate the power of numbers! Since we also want to be more focusing on financial controlling, you will play an important role in shaping this as well, already excited? 

We’re looking for an experienced Business Controller who can join us in providing management with all financial support and act as a true business partner. Could that be you?

What will you be doing?

  • You’ll act as the a true business partner for our business when they require your advise on different kind of financial topics. This involves helping them to interpret or analyse KPI reporting, delivering insights,...
  • Your main focus will be on project and business units controlling & reporting tasks such as margin analysis, project risks evaluation, actuals vs. budget analysis, sales price analysis, forecasting,… but next to that, you will also assist the business with ad hoc requests. Variety is guaranteed!
  • You’ll take ownership of a number of dedicated reports and processes during closing and provide financial support and information during budget rounds.  
  • You will build reports that provide better insights to the business.

Who are we?

The Business Controlling team at delaware acts as a business partner for the our delaware consulting business, providing clear insights that support strategic decision-making. The team focuses on project and business controlling, including budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis and risk evaluation, while working closely with different stakeholders. You’ll join a collaborative, experienced team where financial expertise and business mindset go hand in hand.
 
We have different offices around Belgium but our controlling team is more focused in our Kortrijk and Gent offices. 

Is there a match?

  • Have you held positions similar to this one?  We're looking for someone with at least 5+ years of experience in controlling or a comparable finance function (think audit, corporate finance,…). Either way, a strong affinity with financial analysis and reporting is a must. 
  • Ideally you’ve acquired your finance skills at university: do you hold a Master’s degree in Business / Applied Economics, Corporate Finance, or Business Engineering?
  • Do you combine strong analytical skills with a keen interest in financial matters? Producing financial reports has become second nature to you.
  • Are you a result oriented and IT minded team player? You’re a go-getter who regularly aligns with colleagues. You are a (wo)man with a plan!
  • Would you say you have excellent communication skills? You express yourself fluently in English and Dutch are a must, French is a plus
