Family-owned business Isothermos has been the main distributor and service provider for leading railway rolling stock system brands like Knorr-Bremse ever since 1919. This year, with the help of delaware, the company is making the switch from its trusted Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Dynamics 365 Business Central.

“We’ve been working with Dynamics NAV as our main ERP solution since 2015,” says managing director Cédric Pitsch. “However, Microsoft will stop supporting NAV in the next two years. Instead of waiting, we decided to start looking for a viable solution as fast as possible, in order to ensure continuity and support our future growth.”

Continuity and innovation

Cédric, aware that it would be a challenge to handle the project on top of daily business, decided to call in the expertise of delaware: “We started exploring options together in 2021, and through multiple demos and presentations it quickly became clear that Microsoft Business Central would cover everything we needed.”

“A decisive argument for us was the cloud aspect of Business Central. Not only are SaaS solutions comprehensive and easier to manage, they also mean we can count on Microsoft’s leading security, backup management, and philosophy of innovation. We don’t want to be changing solutions again in a couple of years.”

Better (customer) connections

But there’s more. While ensuring continuity was certainly the main factor for Isothermos, switching to Business Central also opens new opportunities. Cédric: “Like most small companies, we’ve been working for many years with various Microsoft solutions, like Teams, SharePoint and Excel. In the future, direct integration between these programs will also allow us to further professionalize and improve our customer services.”

The go-live is scheduled for the start of 2023. “Since we’re a team of only seven people, sticking to that schedule will be quite challenging,” says Cédric. “However, we have complete confidence in the team at delaware, led by Frédéric Forton. We’re excited to embark on this journey together.”
