From controller to business partner: an NCOI course

For several years now, delaware experts have been valued lecturers in professional courses by NCOI Learning, one of Belgium’s leading training institutes (previously Kluwer). On November 24 next, Ben Reynaert, lead expert business controlling, will give a hands-on session on ‘operations controlling’ in a dedicated training course for controllers.

“The responsibilities of corporate controllers are increasing. NCOI Learning wants to provide them with the skills they need to become a valuable business partner,” says Ben. “In an intensive, four-day training, they get a helicopter view on financial and operational controlling as well as marketing and strategic controlling. In my session on ‘operations controlling’, I zoom in on topics like variance analysis, cost calculation for decision making and activity-based costing methodologies.”

NCOI has organized training on several dates, starting on November 24, 2021. Check out the website (Dutch only) for practical details.

Business game at Ghent University

In our June edition of CFO Connect, we presented the one-year ERP postgraduate course at UC Leuven-Limburg (UCLL). During the new 2021-2022 academic year, our SAP CO consultant Kurt Rommel will again be a guest lecturer, giving lectures on controlling, analytics, group reporting and planning, project management, and cloud.

Still, UCLL is not the only university where delaware will share its know-how. In early 2022 we will introduce students at the Department of Economics of Ghent University to financial reporting in SAP. “Universities increasingly understand how important it is for students to blend theoretical with practical knowledge,” says Kurt. “The Business Game, which is part of the official study program, shows students how SAP can support a finance team in their roles. To make the session interactive and inspiring, we pack it in the format of a business competition.”

Hotspots for talent

More than just places where delaware can exchange hands-on expertise with professionals and students, training institutes and universities are also hotspots for talent, whom we hope to inspire to join our team of experts.
