Talent Development Lead

Microsoft, HR Technology, lot of experience, internal role
Belgium

You bring a clear vision for talent development and capability building in a world that is changing faster than ever. New technologies, AI, evolving ways of working and shifting employee expectations inspire you, and you know how to translate strategic business objectives into practical initiatives that help people and teams build the capabilities they need. With 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, whether in talent management, consulting, the business or a combination of these, you are ready to lead a team and shape the next chapter of talent development at delaware.

Who are we?

At delaware, we believe our people are our greatest strength. That is why we invest in helping them grow, develop and thrive throughout their careers.

The Talent Development team creates and supports learning journeys, bootcamps, leadership programs and development initiatives that help the #peopleofdelaware build the skills and capabilities they need today and tomorrow.

We are ambitious about where we want to go. AI is reshaping jobs, skills are changing faster and colleagues expect development to be relevant and connected to their work. We see this as an opportunity to rethink how we support growth and increase the impact of everything we do.

You will join a collaborative team that cares deeply about people development and is ready for its next step. We are looking for a leader who brings direction and fresh thinking, while staying close to the team and the business.

What will you be doing?

As our Talent Development Lead, you will lead the Talent Development team and help define how we build the capabilities delaware needs for the future. You will create clarity, set priorities and support team members in doing their best work. Through coaching, honest feedback and open conversations, you will create an environment where people feel trusted and encouraged to grow.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will work closely with business leaders, team leads, HR colleagues and subject-matter experts to understand where delaware is heading and what our people need to succeed. Rather than simply responding to training requests, you will ask the right questions, connect initiatives to strategic priorities and turn business needs into relevant talent development and capability-building solutions.

You will shape the direction of Talent Development, building on what works while challenging us to think differently where needed. You will create a clear approach across learning journeys, bootcamps, leadership programs and development initiatives for different career levels, ensuring that our portfolio remains practical and connected to the realities of our people and customers.

Together with your team, you will improve existing programmes and design new initiatives where they add real value. You will work with internal experts and external partners, define clear outcomes, use feedback thoughtfully and look beyond participation figures to understand whether an initiative truly makes a difference.

AI, changing skill requirements and more flexible ways of learning are creating exciting opportunities. You are curious and able to decide what is useful for delaware, turning relevant developments into practical approaches that help our people keep growing.

Above all, you will strengthen ownership of development, encouraging colleagues and leaders to take an active role in building capabilities.

Is there a match?

This role could be a great match if you bring 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience. Your background does not need to follow one fixed path. You may have worked in talent management, Learning & Development, consulting or a business role, as long as you understand talent development and how organisations build capabilities.

You have experience leading, coaching or developing people and enjoy helping a team find focus, work well together and grow in confidence. You can move comfortably between strategy and delivery, building a long-term direction while keeping progress practical.

You understand the business behind the learning question. You listen carefully, challenge constructively and excel at translating strategic objectives into talent development and capability-building initiatives. You build strong relationships and communicate with clarity, warmth and credibility.

You are curious about AI, the future of work and new approaches to development, but you keep your feet on the ground. You focus on what creates value for people and the business. You communicate fluently in English and in either Dutch or French.

You do not need to tick every box. What matters most is your mix of business understanding, talent development experience, people leadership and genuine motivation to help others grow.

Let's meet up!

A strong mix of business understanding, talent development experience and interest in capability building matters more to us than a specific degree or a perfectly linear career path. If you are excited to lead our team and help shape how the #peopleofdelaware grow for the future, click the Apply now button below. We would love to hear your story and hopefully meet you soon!

delaware firmly commits to creating an inclusive work environment that empowers all. A diverse workforce is the best guarantee of success for our employees, our customers and our partners.

Why we're betting on juniors in the age of AI

On 1 September, 89 juniors started at delaware, and with them, a full month-long bootcamp. Time to look back at what that month actually looked like, and why we built it the way we did.

Some of it looked exactly like it does every year: first-day nerves, new faces, the keys to their first car. We say that annually because it's annually true, and it's still one of the loveliest days on our calendar!
