Knowingly or not, you’ve probably already asked a chatbot when your online order will be delivered to your doorstep; retail is one of the domains in which chatbots are rapidly becoming the norm. In other sectors they are still far from a standard communication channel but, as artificial intelligence further evolves, chatbots will continue to demonstrate their added value in an increasing number of tasks and services. So what about HR? How ‘human’ will Human Resources remain?

We believe that there is a place for chatbots in HR, just like in any other domain. They could play a role in recruitment, saving recruiters time by answering candidates’ initial questions, or in HR operations as first-line assistants. And they could definitely increase efficiency in performance management. Since the proof of the pudding is in the eating, we have developed a chatbot ourselves to collect feedback for the Continuous Performance Management module in SuccessFactors.

How does it work? In the evaluation process, you simply call ‘SuccessFactors’ via Skype, Facebook Messenger, Slack or Telegram for example and then you tell SuccessFactors that you would like to give feedback, register an activity or an achievement related to your goals.

Our chatbot will guide you through the process like in any other human to human conversation. It then automatically registers the feedback in SuccessFactors. How about that in terms of time gains?!

So will we be replacing the human in human resources? Not at all. But in a rapidly evolving HR landscape, the most successful companies will be the ones who optimally blend the human dimension with the digital one. Innovation in HR comes in many different guises and, together with SuccessFactors, we want to be pioneers in translating innovative technologies into powerful solutions for our customers.
