The general aim is to be in the office at least 50% of your time. By “in the office”, we mean either one of our delaware offices or the customer’s location.

While there’s a good deal of time you can work from home, customer commitments sometimes require us to be physically present more frequently. Workshops, testing phases, go-lives or simply moving a project forward often work best on site.

We’re also convinced being together with colleagues makes a real difference. Collaboration, trust and problem-solving tend to accelerate when people share the same space – and expertise means more when it’s shared.

So in the end: yes, you’re flexible to work from home, but with our customer priorities and team spirit in mind.

We always keep your personal situation in mind and balance your travel time in the long run, so you can shape your work-life balance sustainably. However depending on the required expertise and the availability of consultants, we have to make do with what is possible.

As a consultant, know that there’s going to be at least some travel time. After all, our customers can’t always come to our offices. Besides, the reality of the customer is best experienced at their site anyway. And understanding your customer’s reality and corporate culture are important for project success.

That being said, the aim is always the same: to inspire you with interesting projects, deliver great customer work and build a career that’s healthy and energizing for the years ahead.
 

As a consultant, by default, there is flexibility in where work takes place: you will be working on different projects for different customers. It’s good to know that we aim to balance working at the customer’s, at one of our offices, and from home. After all, work is done where work is done best. Know that there can be days when the whole project team works at the customer’s location. Collaboration tends to thrive when people are in the same room, so travel within Belgium is part of the job.

When it comes to when you work, we take a similar but thoughtful approach. When exactly you start and finish your workday is partially up to you, as we have flexible work schedules. Here too, it’s important to take into consideration the project reality, the customer’s preferences and smooth collaboration with your colleagues.

Projects sometimes require more time, while at other times, things can be calm. With our flextime schedule, we enable you to work more in those busy moments of the project (e.g. close to go-live), while working less when you’re in between projects.

At delaware, we want you to feel inspired by the work you do - the challenging projects, the expert colleagues around you, and the impact you create for our customers. But we also know that inspiration doesn’t stop at the office door. Sometimes, the things that recharge you most happen outside of work: a morning workout, a quiet school drop-off, an afternoon appointment, or simply a slower start after a late project milestone.
