delaware Singapore named finalist for Channel Asia Innovation Awards 2021 for the 'think different' category
We are pleased to share that delaware Singapore has been nominated as a finalist in the 'Think Differently' category for the 2021 Channel Asia Innovation Award. We made the shortlist from a pool of over 90 organizations and more than 300 nominations.
This recognizes our collaboration with one of our customers, an international shipping container supplier. They were operating an advanced Customer Communications Management (CCM) which was heavily customized. This platform was ageing, having been implemented over 12 years ago. It was due for an upgrade for them to go through a digital transformation of its core ERP to adopt the Digital Enterprise. While the CCM platform has performed well and met the organization's needs over the years, it has proven expensive to operate, maintain and evolve. Moreover, many features and functions were underutilized.
The delaware team suggested going against the common adoption trend of (commercial off-the-shelf) COTS Products, proposing a bespoke solution extension using OpenText StreamServe for their core ERP instead. This was to be done while respecting the contemporary insight to "keep the core clean". This decision was made as best-of-breed solutions for particular use-cases can massively out-perform COTS products. Maintainability was critical, something that was possible thanks to the adoption of new, cloud-based technologies and design methods.
The new bespoke solution, developed using agile development methods, is a lightweight and flexible output management solution that specifically caters to the needs of this organization, replacing the COTS product, which was heavily customized. This approach happened in the customers' adoption of SAP S/4HANA, wherein the design principle of "keep the core clean" was followed. The output management solution was explicitly designed as a focused solution extension.
