2023 marks the 20th anniversary of delaware but is also the year in which we reached a whopping amount of fifty successful SAP S/4HANA implementations around the globe. Various delaware entities helped fifty customers with international footprint move to SAP S/4HANA and permanently changed for the better. How do they look back on their S/4MOVE journey and how are they reaping the first benefits?

The only way forward

SAP S/4HANA has been around for some time now and is proving to be SAP’s most successful ERP system. Making the move to SAP S/4HANA is definitely not a matter of just flipping a switch, but the benefits are manifold. In addition, given SAP will no longer support its existing ERP business suite in 2027, moving to SAP S/4HANA is the only way forward. Nevertheless, embarking on an S/4MOVE journey requires detailed planning, intensive preparation and a robust strategy. Cosucra, a Belgian producer of high-quality food ingredients, implemented SAP ECC in 2011 and only performed the optimalizations that were necessary to keep it running. At that time, Cosucra was not using its ERP system as a digital building block to strive for better and more efficient process flows. Some ten years later, Cosucra decided to change tack. Together with delaware Belux, the organization made the move to SAP S/4HANA, which quickly became an important milestone in their company-wide digital transformation plan and a major steppingstone to a digital future.

The transition to SAP S/4HANA is a major mile- and steppingstone, as it will allow us to better prepare for the digital future. The strong complementarity between delaware and Cosucra in terms of project management was the driving force behind the successful migration.

Ourofino companies (Brazil)

The two Ourofino companies active in the Brazilian veterinary and agriculture industry also recognize SAP S/4HANA is the way to go to thrive in today’s ever-changing world. In close collaboration with delaware Brazil, both companies migrated from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA through the RISE with SAP program, which brings immediate benefits at a reasonable cost.

VDL Nedcar (Netherlands)

delaware Netherlands facilitated a lightning-fast brownfield implementation at Dutch vehicle contract manufacturing company, VDL Nedcar. The project was a relatively standard ERP implementation that had to be connected to a heavily modified SAP-based automotive system. A fine piece of entrepreneurship, pragmatism and flexibility brought the project to its successful conclusion within the deadline and budget.

Nipro (Belgium)

At Nipro Medical Europe (NME), delaware was selected as preferred partner to implement the digital transformation program, the so called ‘Mercury program’. Together with delaware partner SNP, we executed a SAP S/4 BluefieldTM migration towards SAP S/4 Private Cloud EnterpriseRISE in order to re-organize Nipro's financial and logistical structures, serving as solid baseline for future roll-outs & roll-ins.

And the success story doesn't end there: the Nipro Medical Europe entities and the Nipro Pharma Packaging countries will be unified into 1 single central SAP environment, enabling new and future-proof SAP enhancements and functionalities for the entire group.

Elopak (Germany)

At Elopak, a global supplier of carton packaging and filling equipment, delaware Germany showed long-term commitment. In 2021, Elopak did an assessment project together with delaware and another SAP partner to better understand the impacts and efforts an S/4MOVE would bring. Exactly two years later, delaware Germany is the leading partner in the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA.

It was immediately clear that delaware has wide-ranging knowledge and experience in various SAP S/4HANA projects. delaware’s good understanding of the typical setup of business processes in the packaging industry played a significant role in the migration process.

Obramax (Brazil)

We also prove our versatility in Brazil. Thanks to its in-depth industry knowledge within retail, delaware Brazil helped Obramax, a wholesale network of building materials, housewares and toys, with the greenfield implementation of SAP S/4HANA. In addition, the project also included the implementation of FAST-Retail for Brazil, a solution developed by delaware to meet the specific demands of Brazilian retail.
