What way to best describe my internship? I learned a lot and it brought huge added value to conclude my education. But what I liked the most, was working within a team. I also truly enjoyed the variety of smaller projects that I worked on next to my ‘main’ assignment.

I learned a lot during this internship. When I was stuck at some point in the project or didn’t know what to do anymore, I could always count on the help of my colleagues. They responded almost immediately and really took their time to help me.

My team members and other colleagues were really nice – they were always keen to help when I had questions. I could always rely on my coaches to follow up on my progress and to assure the quality of my source code.

I had an awesome internship with truly amazing colleagues. I learned valuable things that I will really be able to use in my later career. Well, actually, I plan on learning a lot more in the upcoming years at delaware – I was offered the opportunity to stay onboard permanently – and I took it, of course.

Elout V. L. - Microsoft Infrastructure:

Well, I must confess that I’m really not a morning person. My colleagues will be able to tell you that too. But at delaware, they understood that. We adapted my working hours to better fit my natural rhythm: I came in a bit later in the morning and compensated for that by staying a bit later if some assignments needed to be finished.

Junior Supply Chain & IT Consultant (September 2024)

“Since I started at delaware, I’ve been working for Skylux, automating their production planning processes via an ERP implementation. As we are now in the blueprinting phase for the business process, I’m assisting my more senior colleagues during workshops with important stakeholders. Using the blueprint, I analyze the different processes that exist in the clients’ production flow. The final blueprint is translated to a software system, in this case Microsoft Dynamics.” — Ann-Sophie Van Eeckhoutte

Like Ann-Sophie, you’ll be working as a functional consultant, straddling the business and IT sides of our projects. What does that mean exactly? A project typically goes a bit like this: first, you visit the customer and organize workshops to analyze their way of working. Based on that information, you create blueprints, drawing up processes and suggesting optimizations. Then the IT part comes into play. You’ll be inputting the processes to a software package and translating business requirements into technical specifications for our developers (who will do the coding). After testing whether everything works properly, you’ll train the customer in how to use the new system.

Junior Finance & IT Consultant

"In my current project at Yusen Logistics, we are implementing the SAP ERP system for all day-to-day finance processes. As a business analyst, I am in charge of the system’s validation tests, making sure that all the flows are working correctly. For example, checking if an invoice is going to the right party after activating this step. Another part of my job is to configure the system based on the customer's needs and give trainings to explain how the ERP works. Every day, I learn about new features since ERP systems are full of possibilities!" – Sébastien Belloso

"In my first year at delaware, I’ve been working on the Medusa migration project at De Watergroep. From a backend perspective, our goal is to migrate and validate the full data-model from SQL Server DBMS to the cloud-based Databricks data platform. My role on the project has been extracting the data from the source system and transforming it into consistent input for the target system. Afterwards, my role is to validate the data to ensure it has been transferred correctly and that all integrity rules have been maintained. This way, data is made available to front-end systems and can be used for the requested processes." – Irene Paolini

Like Irene, you’ll be involved in the entire consulting cycle from A to Z (analysis to implementation and training, that is). Your goal is to create end-to-end, integrated data solutions, which can include:

Data capturing: you extract and bring together as much structured, semi, and unstructured data as possible, wherever it may reside (i.e. ETL process).
Data and information management: you not only integrate and enrich data, you also manage the data architecture, modelling, governance, quality, and security.
Analytics and data science: You help your customers generate the right type of insights: from reporting on past events or handling large volumes of data to predicting and even prescribing future events.
Visualization: you make sure the data is properly visualized, both content- and design-wise. You set up interactive reports and dashboards for our customers.

As an Azure DevOps engineer, I automate the set-up and management of the customer's cloud environment via infrastructure-as-code.
