Telenet Group has won this year’s Data Maturity Award, presented by delaware and Madison.Partners to an organization that has achieved a remarkable data-driven transformation.

delaware and Madison.Partners have once again joined forces to present the annual Data Maturity Award. This award goes to the organization that has made the greatest effort in the field of data within their company, a result measured through a targeted assessment. In addition to Telenet Group, Port of Antwerp-Bruges and Proximus Ada were also shortlisted. It was Telenet Group that took home the award.

Kim Smets, Vice President Data & AI at Telenet Group: “Winning the Data Maturity Award is a tremendous honor and a recognition of our relentless focus on realizing business impact with a thoughtful and unique approach to Data & AI. This achievement underscores the success of our journey towards 'Data & AI as a Product' to deliver continuous value. The secret behind this transformation lies in making Data & AI 'Easy, Relevant, and Famous' across our organization. This award inspires us to continue pushing boundaries and shaping a future powered by Data & AI.”

Data maturity as a driver for growth and innovation

The Data Maturity Award is an initiative of strategy consultant Madison.Partners and delaware Belux. Jonathan de Ramaix, Partner at Madison.Partners, explains: “We strongly believe in data as the foundation for business operations and observe that companies investing in higher data maturity achieve better results. However, we notice that while many companies aim to achieve this, few actually succeed. The purpose of the award is to share good examples and thereby stimulate inspiration and knowledge sharing among companies.”

Edel Boone, Data Management specialist at delaware Belux, confirms: “The organizations we work with are aware of the many possibilities that data offers. Data can improve operations processes, provide insights into customer behavior, and generally lead to better-informed decisions. Many of our clients have already taken the first steps in embracing the possibilities of AI. However, the major challenge remains to permeate the entire organization with the importance of data and to organize accordingly. With our Data & AI event, we aim to inspire organizations, not only with content but also by allowing mature organizations to share their own experiences. The Data Maturity Award is the ideal format for this.”

The Data Maturity Award

To measure data maturity, Madison.Partners developed an online scan that assesses the importance and use of data within an organization. The five highest-scoring companies took a data maturity assessment, where various organizational foundations are mapped out through in-depth interviews. The company with the best overall score takes home the Data Maturity Award. This year, that was Telenet Group. The official award ceremony was the culmination of a Data & AI event featuring keynotes from Rik Verheye and Sam Kerkhofs, and other experts who shared their insights on data and AI.

Jonathan de Ramaix, Partner at Madison.Partners, notes: “The three nominated companies each excelled in their specific domains, making it a close competition. Telenet Group distinguished itself by actively and extensively using data to steer their organizational strategy. They make decisions based on facts, have forward-looking KPIs and insights at their disposal, and develop data-driven scenarios. This is truly what a ‘next generation company’ should be focused on being data-driven.

Companies can still take the free test to discover their data maturity level.
