In a modern utility company that thrives on efficiency, usability is key to success. That's why Fluvius chose SAP S/4HANA for its logistics management, combined with an internal mobile app. How this plays out on site, you’ll learn in the video below.

Fluvius is a multi-utility network operator that manages electricity, gas, and coaxial and fiber networks throughout Flanders. In addition, the company also manages and maintains the sewage system in multiple municipalities.

Logistics management goes mobile

To improve its logistics chain, Fluvius opted for a customized SAP S/4HANA solution, coupled with a mobile app for employees, built with Microsoft Azure. Keeping the user experience firmly in mind, the company overhauled its logistics management to be ready for the mobile era.

Tom Rosseel, logistics project manager at Fluvius, explains: "We took the entire administrative process during order picking and put it in a mobile app. Technicians can now scan the necessary material, easily find what they’re looking for, and get going.” Furthermore, the app also manages the technician’s stock, orders, returns, and more. In this way, employees can get to their jobs faster and easier.

User experience success

Since Fluvius wanted employees to quickly become familiar with the system, user experience was key to success. Through in-depth workshops with end-users, co-organized with delaware, Fluvius managed to further improve and perfect the tool. “During these workshops, users had every opportunity to become familiar with the app very quickly.”

"In delaware, we found a reliable partner who can guide us in realizing our objectives," Tom concludes. “What’s more, we got a lot of positive feedback from our technicians as well.”
