Ariba Network

Ariba Network is a B2B marketplace powered by SAP HANA that allows buyers and suppliers to find each other and do business within a single cloud platform.

Ariba Network enables merchants to: manage catalogs, promotions, sales and invoices
It allows purchasers to: find suppliers, negotiate discounts, procure various goods and services and track expenses.

Unlike traditional marketplaces, Ariba Network has additional features (usually B2C) that allow users to:

submit requests for quotations, requests for bids or "requests for quotations" (bids from pre-selected parties)

Ariba Network addresses local regulatory and compliance issues, among other business concerns

SAP Business Network

From a completely different perspective, SAP Ariba (and SAP Ariba Network) is also a core component of SAP Business Network.

Its interface is intended to be "user-friendly" and tries to make it as user-friendly as possible to approximate the B2C model of online shopping such as eBay and Amazon.
