GDC AMS SAP PPQM with PPDS Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP Application Support Consultant specializing in SAP PP (Production Planning) and SAP QM (Quality Management) with strong hands on expertise in SAP PPDS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling). The role focuses on providing high quality application support within a complex manufacturing and automotive environment, ensuring seamless business operations and continuous system improvement.
This role involves incident resolution, root-cause analysis, system enhancements, end user support, and collaboration with cross functional teams to maintain and optimize supply chain and manufacturing processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Application Support & Incident Management:
Provide Level 2/3 support for SAP PP, QM, and PPDS modules in a global SAP support environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to production execution, planning, capacity scheduling, and quality processes.
Perform root-cause analysis and propose long-term corrective actions.
Work closely with business users to resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
- System Enhancements & Improvements
Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
Configure SAP PP, QM, and PPDS changes to support process improvements or new business needs.
Collaborate with ABAP developers for custom developments, enhancements, and reports.
Support testing cycles (SIT, UAT) and coordinate deployment activities.
- End-User Support & Training
Provide guidance, training, and documentation to end users on PP, QM, and PPDS processes.
Assist business teams in improving process efficiency and system usage.
Support key users during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities.
- Integration & Cross-Module Collaboration
Work closely with teams in MM, SD, WM/EWM, FI/CO, and Basis to resolve integrated issues.
Ensure PPDS integration with PP, MM, APO, and other relevant modules runs smoothly.
Assist in monitoring CIF queues, master data synchronization, and interface-related topics.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience
- Functional Expertise
5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP PP and QM modules.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (discrete and/or process industry).
Deep expertise in SAP PPDS, including:
Detailed scheduling heuristics
Pegging
Planning procedures
Resource and capacity planning
DS board operations
- Support Environment Experience
Solid experience operating within ITIL-driven support frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
Proven track record in SLAs, ticket management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Solution Manager), and production support workflows.
- Technical & Process Knowledge
Familiarity with SAP master data (BOMs, routings, work centers, inspection plans, resources, PDS).
Understanding of batch management, quality notifications, inspection lots, and control keys.
Knowledge of CIF integration between ECC/S4 and PPDS.
Ability to analyze ABAP debugging traces (nice-to-have).
- Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Proactive mindset for identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Preferred Qualifications
Experience in S/4HANA PP, QM, and PP/DS modules.
SAP certification in PP, QM, or PPDS.
Prior involvement in SAP rollout, migration, or upgrade projects.
Experience in manufacturing industries such as automotive, electronics, FMCG, or pharmaceuticals.
