#rookiesofdelaware: a day in the lives of our newbies

During the past few weeks, our Instagram followers had the chance to get a glimpse into the everyday lives of our recent joiners. The goal of the #rookiesofdelaware initiative is to show how our newest colleagues spend their day at our office, thus, the participants took over our Instagram for a day and shared some stories about their various tasks. This year, the first season of our rookies series has come to an end, and we wanted to summarize how the first couple of months look like for the new employees. 

In which fields can you work for us? 

delaware is an IT consulting company and currently in our Hungarian office we offer the following solutions:  

  • SAP: our largest team is working with the assessment of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and the implementation and development of the connecting modules and applications of different industry players 

  • Digital: this team’s main focus is developing and implementing modern digital solutions for our customers 

  • Utility: they are supporting local and global utility companies SAP-wise  

It is no big surprise that our team is mainly made up of consultants and developers, while our Support team is responsible for the smooth operation of the everyday life of delaware. In our #rookiesofdelaware series - due to the growth of our Support team this year - you could meet three new colleagues, plus you could see how a day of the SAP team is going thanks to one of our consultants who started here as an intern and has now been working full-time on a project. 

Onboarding at delaware 

After receiving and accepting your offer, your career at delaware starts on the agreed date. The first working day is usually an easy one: the new joiners are shown around the office, and you receive your work phone and laptop. After that we start you on your onboarding journey with your team lead who is taking you under his or her wings: they will show you everything you need to know and can expect in the beginning. Gradually you will get more and more familiar with your tasks, our projects and solutions, and you will see how quickly time will fly by - trust us, we are speaking from experience! As an added plus, at the end of your probation period, you will get a beautiful delaware hoodie to mark this special day.

With a true team spirit, we also put a lot of effort into organizing programmes after working hours. In our office - despite the growing number of people - the atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly, so no day goes by without eating lunch together, having a terrace party or drinking mulled wine during the winter.
