Meat&More is a vertically integrated food processing company specializing in meat, known for its butchery chain Buurtslagers (‘Neighborhood Butchers’) and the meal store formula Bon'Ap. Bon'Ap combines an extensive range of fresh food and meat products, and meals for on-site or on-the-go consumption. Meat&More has more than 170 sales outlets throughout Flanders. In total, over 1.100 people work in the Meat&More group. To manage its successful growth, the company needed an ERP system where automation, scalability and standardization would be key.
“We even had a few days to spare before the deadline. That’s how efficient it all went.” – Wim Blomme, Meat&More project manager.
Quality, pragmatism and operational excellence
The DNA of Meat&More is one of a company rooted in Belgian product quality, a spirit of pragmatism and a drive for operational excellence. When Meat&More realized the time had come to optimize their back-office processes and production lines with an ERP system, they found their partner in delaware.
“Despite having grown to a company of over 1.100 employees, we never want to lose track of where we come from. Essentially, we still want to be a place that feels like a family company. As such, having a partner that treated us as equals, and approached our challenges with the same level of pragmatism that we have was important to us. That was certainly the case for delaware,” recalls Wim Blomme, Meat&More project manager.
delaware implemented a standardized solution based on its Fast Food methodology. It assessed all key users and went in with a step-by-step approach, including testing and training, to make sure the entire system would go live without a hitch. “In fact,” adds Mr. Blomme, “we even had a few days to spare before the deadline, that’s how efficient it all went.”
Benefits
The new ERP system allowed Meat&More to keep using its skilled employees to create value while automating routine tasks and processes. “The system also quickly tells us if something is not going as expected. When we can quickly react to potential problems, it gives us the confidence that we are doing the right things in the right way at the right time,” says Mr. Blomme.
Meat&More combines the drive for artisanal taste with a firm grounding in business reality.
