SAP EAM Consultant for Utilities

ConsultantInternalSupply chain and OperationsSAPSomeLot of

In today’s rapidly-changing energy world, new challenges often require new solutions. The same goes for utility industry solutions, which are heavily impacted by the increasing decentralization of energy production – through e.g. solar panels and wind turbines – and the digitization of meters for end-users.

For key customers in the industry, delaware is currently building state-of-the-art EAM for Utilities, using the latest SAP S/4HANA functionalities. We’ve clustered our asset management projects into investment works, maintenance and exploitation, network connections and asset register. For companies with this many assets, knowing which assets have been built, where to locate them and when maintenance is due, is vital to its operations.

That’s why we’re looking for an experienced SAP EAM consultant; someone who not only brings knowledge, but also brings peace. Our long-term implementation programs include very large and innovative utility projects where integration with Geographical solutions is also key. You wouldn’t want to miss out on that, would you?

What will you be doing as an SAP EAM consultant for Utilities?

As an SAP EAM consultant, you’ll be involved in the entire implementation project. This means you’ll guide the customer from analysis, blueprinting and customization, up until the actual go-live of their brand new system.

  • We offer around 16 different products, and each product is as unique as the team tasked to build and implement it. Depending on the SAP EAM module in which you’ve gained experience, you’ll either simplify the customer’s asset lifecycle with Compatible Units (CU) and Geographical Enablement Framework (GEF) or manage resources using Multi-Resource Scheduling (MRS).
  • First, you’ll provide us with integrated asset management solution designs, making sure to include workload estimations as you go.
  • Armed with a complete functional analysis, you’ll configure the solution, and if extra programming is necessary, you’ll write the specifications.
  • You’ll make sure to synchronize requirements with the application and data architecture, including interfaces and integrations.
  • Needless to say, you’ll follow the development carefully and test everything thoroughly before it is released to users.
  • You’ll take younger, less experienced colleagues under your wing and show them the ropes.
  • Next to your consultancy assignments, you’ll also fulfil a minor commercial role, while you assist your colleagues in creating presales proposals.

You’ll spend much of your time working on site at the customer’s offices, where you’ll always be surrounded by your delaware colleagues. You can also meet your other colleagues in one of the delaware offices in Gent, Antwerpen, Wavre, Kortrijk or Lummen,

Do you have what it takes to become an SAP EAM consultant for Utilities?

Now that you know what your to-do list looks like, let’s see if your skill set includes the strengths we’re looking for:

  • Do you have at least 5 years of experience working with and implementing SAP EAM? Ideally, you’d combine solid general EAM knowledge with specific MRS and CU expertise.
  • Would you say that you complement those functional SAP skills with sound knowledge of the business processes in the utilities industry? During your work for our customers, experience in a utility environment might come in handy. No specific experience within utilities, but eager to become an expert? Then we would like to talk to you too!
  • You may know the ins and outs of the tools, but do you also have the necessary consulting and coaching skills? Or are you eager to pick these up along the way?
  • As a consultant, you will get a lot of freedom to form your own schedule, which is why taking ownership and self-organizing your work is essential. When you’re stuck on something, you dare to ask for help.
  • Clear communication is crucial in this line of work, even in another language. Can you express yourself easily in English and Dutch or French?
