The recruitment process: four beliefs for a worthwhile journey

Apr 04, 2019

Would you like to be part of the #peopleofdelaware? There are certainly openings, as our 24 offices across the world are growing rapidly. We have been hiring 200 people annually for the last few years.

Before we start, you should know that our environment is extremely diverse, fast-paced and ever-changing. All kinds of talented people work together and make incredible things happen. We don’t use technology for its own sake, but rather to help organizations and people do what they do best, and in the most efficient way. Being on top of innovations is just one of the things we like in our daily job.

Do you recognize yourself in our vision? Can you see yourself being part of it? Then give our new blog series a try! It will give you a taste of what it’s like to apply at delaware. We promise that reading the story of our junior recruitment team will:

  1. Guide you through our recruitment process
  2. Prepare you for the hardest part of any job search: applying
  3. Explain the need for a little patience, because we care about you

Here is how to get a job at delaware. #part1

Belief n°1: Candidate-centricity is in our delaware recruitment DNA

At delaware, every recruitment process starts with one key element: you! One of our core values is respect. We want to inform you in a timely manner and provide you with the necessary feedback and communication you deserve. Let’s take a closer look at questions we often get from graduates:

  • When? - Recent graduates often ask us the same question: when is the right time to start applying? We always give the same answer: whenever you feel ready!

  • Is there a deadline? - Some people know exactly what they want and have an idea of preferred employer, while others would rather focus on their thesis/internship before applying in summer. That is why at delaware we don’t have application deadlines. We believe every applicant is truly different, with his or her own needs and deadlines.

  • How?- Be it through our website or at a job fair, you can apply in many different ways. Your initial application is followed up by a call to allow us to get to know you, and you to know us. Even though we as recruiters love calling people, we know not everyone shares our passion. If you’d rather keep in touch over mail, that’s equally fine for us. Every candidate has his or her own preferred way of communicating, and we respect that.

  • How fast? - We receive more than 1000 junior applications each year. That’s a lot of people to meet. Most have put a lot of effort into their preparation, so we want to give each application the attention and respect it deserves. Don’t be alarmed if you don’t hear back from us immediately: we care about giving every résumé a fair chance, and this takes time.

In exchange, we expect you to take an active role in the application journey as well. Find out how in our next blog series!

P.S.:  On our Facebook page we often share ‘A job of the week’, which is an easy way to stay up to date on our job openings!

“I liked the fact that I was given the time to think about what I really wanted to do. The recruiter gave me two options, based on the first conversation we had: he told me to explore these two options and come back to him whenever I was ready.” - Elke
