B-Europe website, built by Delaware Consulting, wins Sitecore’s global ‘Best Travel and Transportation Site of the Year’ award

Kortrijk, Antwerp (Belgium), 27 June 2011  – IT services provider Delaware Consulting announces that its customer B-Europe, the international travel division of the Belgian railways, has won the Sitecore award for ‘Best Travel and Transportation Site’. CMS provider Sitecore praised the e-commerce website for its user-friendliness, its many value-added features and the dynamic data management approach, made possible by combining Sitecore’s advanced web and online marketing solutions with Delaware’s expertise. www.b-europe.com is Delaware’s third Sitecore prize-winning site.

Sitecore’s annual ‘Site of the Year’ contest recognizes organizations that have leveraged Sitecore technology to develop the best websites. Selection criteria include creativity, integration with rich data sources and applications, the ability to engage, educate and motivate an action, and the site’s overall user experience. b-europe.com, a Delaware realization, managed to score extremely well on all criteria. The new site guides site visitors seamlessly through the travel booking process and offers added-value features, such as multi-channel sales, after-sales support, etc.

Information-driven sales

Unlike most web portals, b-europe.com follows the strategy of information-driven sales: the user gets a view on the offer combined with information concerning carriers, service levels, destinations, etc. A tight coupling between the search functionality and the sales module breaks down the barrier between consulting the offer and the actual booking. Finally, integration of different sales channels – including online, call center, web form-based and email – allows activation of the most applicable sales channel for every type of booking. An extra module helps customers manage the complete after-sales flow as well, such as cancellations or booking changes.

Higher conversion ratio
